ASAS

ASAS is a yield-generating private equity real estate fund. The fund invests in income-generating real estate assets producing stable cash flows and provides its investors a unique blend of quarterly returns and sustained capital stability. 

 

ASAS, which means foundation in Arabic, capitalizes on the opportunity resulting from the lack of institutional ownership of commercial real estate, the asset-heavy balance sheets of many regional companies, and the severe under-supply in certain real estate sectors in the Gulf and wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region including Turkey.

 

The fund invests in accordance with the principles of Shari'a as agreed with its Shari’a advisor.

 

Investments are based on the specific conditions in each real estate sector within the different regional markets. ASAS focuses on operationally-essential real estate such as logistics warehouses, schools, hospitals and supermarkets where there is a lack of institutional capital. ASAS will also purchase high quality real estate where there are large supply-demand gaps which support stable rental cash flows.

 

The fund is being deployed by a dedicated real estate investment team which leverages Abraaj’s expertise and reach in the region. The team brings best in class discipline to its investments and consists of seasoned real estate investment professionals with experience in both emerging and developed markets. The team engages external transaction advisors such as lawyers, technical consultants, and environmental advisors as appropriate to ensure the highest standard of due diligence on potential investments.
