Mr. Faisal Khan is the Head of the Real Estate Investment Team in Abraaj Capital.  Mr. Khan helped establish the real estate business line at Abraaj Capital and manages the real estate investment process including for the ASAS Fund.

 

Mr. Khan has over 20 years of experience including in private equity, principal financing, real estate and strategy.  His experience covers both emerging and developed markets including the MENA region, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe.

 

Prior to joining Abraaj Capital, Mr. Khan was with ABN AMRO Bank N.V., London in Structured Real Estate Capital, with responsibility for real estate transactions, including publicly rated transactions.  These commercial real estate transactions included assets in the office, retail, multifamily and industrial sectors.  He also led the bank’s first public Non Performing Loans transaction.

 

Earlier in his career, Mr. Khan was a Director in Strategy and Change Management at ABN AMRO, responsible for the strategy and execution of key business initiatives. During this time, he helped implement the global investment banking sector coverage model within the bank.

 

Through his previous role in Corporate Finance, Mr. Khan has significant origination, coverage and underwriting experience across a wide range of sectors and products.  His focus was on the oil & gas, power, chemicals and pharmaceutical sectors.

 

Mr. Khan started his career with KPMG in the UK and was part of their Financial Services team, managing relationships with large financial institutions. He is also a Chartered Accountant (FCA - ICAEW).
